2025-10-20: Several people died on Monday (20 October) at around 3:50 am (local time) after a cargo plane veered off the north runway at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), located on the island of Chek Lap Kok, and struck a ground-service vehicle before partly plunging into the sea. Reportedly, the north runway remains closed as investigations remain ongoing.
Local traffic disruptions are possible. Travellers are advised to avoid the scene of the accident and follow instructions by security forces.
