Update 2026-06-03: According to reports, tropical storm Jangmi swept across Japan on Wednesday (3 June). Heavy winds and torrential rain led to traffic disruptions and caused power outages in tens of thousands of households. The center of the storm was located about 150 kilometers south of Tokyo on Wednesday afternoon (3 June, local time), according to the Japanese Meteorological Agency. The storm is expected to pass very close to the Pacific coast in the east of the country.
