2026-06-08: At least one train driver’s assistant was killed in another Ukrainian drone attack on a passenger train on the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea, according to the authorities on Monday (8 June). The train driver himself was injured. The passenger train was hit on the Moscow-Simferopol route. Passengers were not injured. Train services were temporarily suspended. All trains were evacuated and passengers were transported on buses.
Heightened security measures and operations of security forces are to be expected. Ongoing armed clashes are to be expected. Travellers are advised to exercise high caution, to strictly avoid operations of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
