Update 2026-07-16: According to the latest reports from Thursday (16 July), several explosions and reported air strikes were recorded across southern Iran, including Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, Konarak, Chabahar, Rasak, and Ahvaz. Meanwhile, the US military said that it intercepted a third vessel in the Strait of Hormuz as part of its ongoing naval blockade. Furthermore, several Iranian military personnel died on Wednesday (15 July) in renewed US strikes targeting southeastern Iran. The attacks reportedly struck the Bampur Army garrison, the Chabahar Port maritime traffic control centre, and areas near Rask and Chabahar in Sistan and Baluchestan Province. Separately, authorities said a US strike caused damage to part of the Souza fish powder factory on Qeshm Island, Hormozgan Province. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that it intercepted and destroyed an enemy MQ-9 drone over Andimeshk, Khuzestan Province. Separately, Iranian authorities reported that several US air strikes targeted an area outside Khondab in Markazi Province.
