Update 2021-12-14 (2): As of Wednesday (15 December) the travel ban on arrivals from 11 African countries will be lifted.

Update 2021-12-14 (1): According to information from the Federal Foreign Office on Tuesday (14 December), the COVID-19 warning level has been raised to 4. In England, a COVID passport (proof of vaccination or recovery) or a negative rapid test, which must not be older than 48 hours, will be required for many events and nightclubs from Wednesday (15. December). In Scotland and Northern Ireland, this regulation is already in force. Additionally, from Wednesday (15 December), instead of going into home quarantine, fully vaccinated travellers who have had contact with someone infected with Omikron will also be allowed to test themselves for seven consecutive days.
