Update 2022-03-17: On Thursday (17 March), the Italian government decided to relax the measures to combat COVID-19 as of 01 April. From April, proof of vaccination, recovery or a current negative test will no longer be required for access to hotels, public transport and shops. From 01 May the Italian green pass will be abolished in all other areas of public life. Until 01 May, a proof of vaccination or recovery is required for indoor public areas, restaurants, cultural and sports facilities. From 01 April onwards, the obligation to provide proof of vaccination or recovery is dropped in outdoor areas. On flights and long-distance trains, proof of vaccination, recovery or a current negative test is needed until 01 May. As of 01 April, all capacity restrictions for public events are abolished. In addition, current quarantine rules have been adapted. From now on, only individuals with acute COVID-19 infection will have to isolate themselves. Contact persons will not be subject to quarantine.
