Thailand, Severe Weather, Level 3: Severe rainfall expected throughout the country from 17 to 22 September – Thailand [Update 1]

Update 2022-09-19: According to media reports from Monday (19 September), at least one person was killed and another is still missing after the sinking of a tourist boat in the Chanthaburi River in the Chanthaburi Province on Sunday (18 September). The sinking was caused by heavy rainfall.

2022-09-16: According to media reports, severe rainfall is predicted from Saturday (17 September) until Thursday (22 September). A flash flood warning has been issued for the Kwai Noi, Pa Sak, Chao Phraya, Chi, Mun, Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Bang Pakong, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat rivers.
Traffic disruptions are to be expected, floods and landslides are possible. Travellers should exercise heightened caution, especially near rivers and mountainslopes, and follow instructions by authorities.
