France, Transport Incident, Level 3: Rail services between France and Italy suspended following landslide in the Maurienne Valley – Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France

2023-08-28: According to reports, a landslide took place at around 5:15 pm on Sunday (28 August, local time) on the RD 1006 Road in the Maurienne Valley in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes). As a result, all rail services between France and Italy on The Chamery-Turin line and TER regional trains in the Maurienne Valley have been suspended as a result. Rail services are expected to remain suspended until at least Thursday (31 August). The Frejus tunnel between France and Italy has also been closed to heavy trucks.
