Austria, Severe Weather, Level 3: Heavy snowfall forecast for wide parts of the country – Austria [Update 5]

Update 2023-12-04: Power outage was reported on Sunday (3 December) following Significant snowfall in Murtal District, Styria and in Upper Austria. Moreover, road closures were in various areas including on B154 and A12, and the Pinzgauer Straße (B311) in Salzburg was temporarily closed due to an avalanche. The Vienna outer ring motorway A21 was also temporarily shut. Meanwhile, train services were heavily affected, with the ÖBB indicating long-term impacts on train traffic. The Ennstal route near Schladming was partially closed. Moreover, an avalanche warning was issued for the Lower Austria areas such as Ybbstal Alps, the Rax-Schneeberg area, the Semmering and the Tuernitz Alps. Additionally, train services between Salzburg and Tyrol were disrupted, necessitating rerouting via Zell am See. Furthermore, cold weather is expected to continue into Monday and Tuesday (4 and 5 December).
