Update 2024-01-17: The German Weather Service issued a severe weather warning on Tuesday evening (16 January, local time) for heavy snowfall in the south of North Rhine-Westphalia, particularly affecting areas like Siegen-Wittgensteiner Land and Hochsauerland. The forecast predicts 15 to 25 centimetres of snow within 24 hours from Wednesday (17 January) to Thursday morning (18 January, local time), with potential peaks of up to 35 centimetres in some places. Additionally, all flights remain cancelled for Wednesday (17 January) at Saarbrücken Airport, located in Saarland, due to an official storm warning issued by the German Weather Service (DWD).
