2024-03-14: Several youths were injured on Wednesday around 2:30 am (13 March, local time) in front of the River View Restaurant in the Hamid Char neighborhood of Chattogram (Chittagong Division) when supporters of a local gang leader and supporters of a political party got into a fight and attacked each other with knives. One person was killed in the clash. Several of the perpetrators were arrested, and a manhunt was launched for the remaining perpetrators.
Heightened security measures and operations of security forces are to be expected. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are possible. Travellers are advised to exercise caution, to strictly avoid demonstrations, road blockades, large gatherings, and deployments of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
