Update 2024-05-09: Several civilians were killed on Wednesday (8 May) following gun violence by regime forces during a raid on Kan Thit village in Myaing Township in Magway Region. Reportedly, a camp set up by a local defence team near Kan Thit was also destroyed in the raid. Additionally, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) launched an attack on junta base camps on Tuesday (7 May) at around 5 am (local time) in Hsin Hkan village and Mansi Township in Kachin State. Reportedly, the KIA and its allies quickly took control of Hsin Hkan village and captured the police station in Mansi.
