Pakistan, Terrorism, Level 3: Flight services disrupted following explosions in several places – Pakistan

2025-05-08: According to sources from Thursday (8 May), multiple explosions were reported in the DHA Phase 3 and Phase 4 areas near Walton Airport (OPLH) in Lahore, Punjab Province, amid heightened tensions following Indian military action. The explosions left thick plumes of smoke rising into the sky, intensifying the atmosphere of tension and urgency. Reportedly, flight operations at Jinnah International Airport (KHI), Allama Iqbal International Airport (LHE) and Sialkot International Airport (SKT) have been suspended. In addition, Jinnah International Airport (KHI) and Sialkot International Airport (SKT) will remain closed until 12 pm (local time).
Heightened security measures and operations of security forces are to be expected. Armed clashes are possible during arrests of terror suspects. Travellers are advised to exercise high caution, to strictly avoid operations of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
