Update 2025-05-12 (2): Multiple regions in northern India, including Jammu and Kashmir, Samba, Udhampur, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar in Punjab and areas surrounding Vaishno Devi Bhawan and the Yatra track, have reported significant security disturbances as of Monday evening (12 May, local time). Loud explosions were reported in Hoshiarpur in Dasuya, Jalandhar, and Samba, where red aerial streaks were observed. However, India’s air defence system intercepted the aerial objects. Immediate blackouts were enforced in several locations including Pathankot, Mukerian, Dasuya, Amritsar and the Yatra route.
Update 2025-05-12 (1): Following a pause in military action between India and Pakistan, border districts in Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Gujarat began a cautious return to normalcy on Sunday (11 May). Authorities have scaled back or lifted blackout orders that had been widely imposed across several areas. However, drone sightings and isolated explosions continue to emerge from some areas.
