Update 2025-07-25 (1): The British Foreign Office has advised against all but essential travel within 50 kilometers of the Cambodian border in the provinces of Buriram, Si Saket, Surin and Ubon Ratchathani since Thursday evening (24 July, local time). The temples of Preah Vihear/Khao Phra Wihan, Ta Krabey/Ta Kwai and Tamone Thom/Ta Muen Thom have been closed.
Update 2025-07-24 (3): According to police reports, at least eight Thai civilians were killed in heavy fighting in the border region between Thailand and Cambodia on Thursday (24 July). At least 13 other people were injured by artillery fire and rockets at five different locations, according to a statement from the Kantharalak police station in north-eastern Thailand. A small supermarket and a hospital are also said to have been attacked.
Update 2025-07-24 (2): According to reports on Thursday (24 July), the governors of four provinces along the Cambodian border have ordered the evacuation of residents there. Surin, Buriram, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani are affected.
