Hong Kong’s Cathay Group announced its 2025 interim results together with the exercise of purchase rights for an additional 14 Boeing 777-9 aircraft, bringing Cathay’s total firm commitment to 35 such aircraft. In addition, Cathay also confirmed another seven purchase rights for the 777X programme of aircraft, which could eventually see the oneworld member operating 42 777-9s.
