Update 2025-08-12: According to the latest reports from Tuesday (12 August), authorities in Taiwan began evacuating hundreds of residents from the southeastern city of Taitung and eastern Hualien County as Typhoon Podul, approached the island’s southeast coast. The storm is expected to make landfall near Taitung on Wednesday (13 August) before crossing the densely populated western coast and heading toward China’s Fujian Province.
