2025-12-08: Thai forces launched airstrikes on Cambodian military positions on Monday (8 December) at around 5:04 am (local time) along the disputed border near Chong An Ma Pass after Cambodian forces exchanged gunfires with Thai forces. Attacks were also reported in the provinces of Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey. Thai forces fired multiple tank rounds at Tamone Thom temple and nearby areas close to Preah Vihear temple. Gunfire was also reported around the Tamone Thom and Ta Krabei temple zones, causing villagers living near the frontier to flee for safety.
Heightened security measures and operations of security forces are to be expected. Ongoing armed clashes are to be expected. Travellers are advised to exercise high caution, to strictly avoid operations of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
