Update 2025-12-08 (3): As of Monday (8 December), authorities in Ubon Ratchathani and Surin Provinces intensified evacuations from border areas following heavy clashes between Thai and Cambodian forces. Authorities warned the fighting could intensify for several days, after residents in the Nam Yuen District reported hearing artillery fire from around 1am (local time). Reportedly, the heaviest clashes remain concentrated around the Chong An Ma area.
Update 2025-12-08 (2): According to the latest reports, Cambodian forces fired BM-21 rockets on Monday (8 December) at around 8:30am (local time) in Ban Sai Tho 10 village, Ban Kruat district, Buri Ram Province. No fatalities have been reported so far. Moreover, clashes remain ongoing along several points of the border, including Chong An Ma, Hill 677, Huai Tamalia, the Khna area, and Prasat Ta Muen Thom.
Update 2025-12-08 (1): At least one security official was killed and several others injured on Monday (8 December) following exchanges of gunfire between Cambodian and Thai forces along the Thailand–Cambodia border in Ubon Ratchathani Province. Moreover, the Second Army Area reported that Cambodian troops opened fire on Thai soldiers on Monday (8 December) at around 8:50 am (local time) at Huai Tamalia in Si Sa Ket province, prompting Thai forces to return fire under international rules of engagement as clashes continued.
