2025-12-19: Dozens of security personnel were injured on Thursday (18 December) when a mob armed with sticks breached a security cordon during an ongoing burial-related dispute in Badetevda village of Amabeda Sub-district in Kanker District, Chhattisgarh. The unrest began on Tuesday (16 December), and involved protester clashes, stone-pelting, and vandalism.
Heightened security measures and operations of security forces are to be expected. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are possible. Travellers are advised to exercise caution, to strictly avoid demonstrations, road blockades, large gatherings, and deployments of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
