Update 2026-03-23 (1): The aircraft involved was an Air Canada flight operated by Jazz Aviation (flight number AC8646), which had taken off from Montreal (YUL) and landed at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in New York at around 11:40 p.m. local time on Sunday (22 March). At least two police officers were seriously injured. It was initially unclear whether any passengers were injured. The airport remains closed.
