2026-04-09: According to the sources from Wednesday (8 April), authorities have sealed Liaquat Bagh and blocked all entry routes ahead of a planned Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) gathering on Thursday (9 April). Metro Bus and green bus services are suspended; roads, including Murree Road, Liaquat Road, and College Road, are barricaded, and security forces with tear gas, along with Rangers, are on alert.
Heightened security measures and operations of security forces are to be expected. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are possible. Travellers are advised to exercise caution, to strictly avoid demonstrations, road blockades, large gatherings, and deployments of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
