Update 2026-05-08 (1): According to the latest reports on Friday (8 May), Israeli artillery strikes were reported across several areas of southern part of the country, including the outskirts of al-Mansouri, Byout el-Saiyad, the al-Mansouri-Hamra coastline, al-Khiam, and Qaaqaaiyet al-Jisr. Authorities stated that the shelling reportedly originated from positions south of Tyre, while an Israeli force backed by military vehicles and attack helicopters reportedly advanced towards Byout el-Saiyad at dawn. Reportedly, Lebanese medical teams from the Red Cross and army were forced to withdraw under fire while attempting to recover bodies and evacuate wounded people near Zibqin following earlier strikes. A large detonation was also reported inside al-Khiam, while smoke was seen rising from bombardment on Qaaqaaiyet al-Jisr as observed from nearby Marjayoun.
