Update 2026-08-12: According to the latest report on Wednesday (12 August), Tropical Storm Chan-hom moved westward after making landfall in Greater Tokyo, causing fallen trees, power outages and several injuries. The storm was heading toward Wakasa Bay on the north-central coast. Reportedly, thousands of homes in Ibaraki and neighbouring Tochigi prefectures were without electricity, while dozens of flights at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (HND) were canceled.
