2026-09-07: Several climbers were killed and others injured after an avalanche struck a group of 15 climbers in the Bezengey Gorge, Kabardino-Balkaria, on Sunday (6 September). The three injured climbers were evacuated by helicopter to Nalchik, while the fate of 10 others remained unknown as search operations continued amid difficult terrain and further avalanche risks.
