Update 2026-08-07: Typhoon Dolphin approached the southwestern part of the country, bringing heavy rain, strong winds and high waves. Authorities ordered thousands of residents in Kagoshima and Okinawa prefectures to evacuate, while more than 500 flights were cancelled on Friday (7 August). Authorities warned of possible flooding and structural damage. Strong winds were also affecting parts of Kyushu, including Kumamoto.
