Update 2022-07-12: According to media reports on Tuesday (12 July), demonstrators continue to occupy the presidential palace. There were also protests at the airport. Passengers and airport staff allegedly demonstrated against the departure of outgoing President Mahinda Rajapaksa and prevented the president from leaving the country.
