Peru, Strike, Level 2: Indefinite carriers strike over unmet demands – Peru

2022-07-18: According to sources, dissatisfied with the increase in gasoline prices, cost of life, chemical inputs, fertilisers, and other unmet demands by the government, carriers started an indefinite strike on Monday (18 July). The National Police have claimed that several roads are blocked and access to others is limited. Roads in Ayacucho, Puno, Piura, Cusco and Lambayeque are affected.
In case of a strike, major disruptions in [sector] are to be expected. Delays and cancellations are likely. Before and after official strike hours, disruptions are also possible due to organisational reasons. Travelers are advised to contact their tour operator about the current status in advance to their journey and to schedule additional time for their journey.
