Update 2022-08-19 (2): According to sources, the meteorological authorities have extended the weather warning for heavy rainfall in Marlborough Sounds and Bryant and Richmond areas including the Rai Valley until 2 pm (local time) on Saturday (20 August).

Another round of showers is expected later on Friday (19 August). Several hundreds of houses have been evacuated so far, with roads near the area closed. Power outage is also being reported.
