2022-09-14: According to the sources, a 24-hour general strike has been scheduled for Thursday (15 September) by the workers of PIT- CNT, a national trade union center, to press their several demands. Reportedly, the strike will be carried out by the members of different unions and organizations due to which services by the National Union of Transport Workers and Workers (Unott) will be affected. Other transport services are also very likely to be affected.
Heightened security measures as well as disruptions to traffic and public life are to be expected. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are possible. Travellers are advised to exercise caution, to strictly avoid demonstrations, road blockades, large gatherings, and deployments of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
