2022-12-11: According to reports, general strikes are scheduled to take place on Wednesday (14 December) in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, Aosta Valley, Veneto, and Apulia. In Trention-Alto Adige/Südtirol the strike is expected to take place from 9 am to 1 pm (local time) and in Aosta Valley, Veneto, and Apulia the strike is expected to last up to 24 hours.
Heightened security measures as well as disruptions to traffic and public life are to be expected. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are possible. Travellers are advised to exercise caution, to strictly avoid demonstrations, road blockades, large gatherings, and deployments of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
