2023-10-18: An ongoing demonstration was reported on Wednesday mid-afternoon (18 October, local time) by a Palestinian supporter group moving from the National Mall, Washington, District of Columbia, to inside of the Cannon Rotunda in Capitol Hill with thousands of protesters and hundreds of protesters in Independence Avenue and New Jersey Avenue near Cannon Rotunda of Washington, District of Columbia. Reportedly, several protesters were detained during the demonstration. Additionally, roads near the affected areas were blocked following the incident.
Heightened security measures and operations of security forces are to be expected. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are possible.
