2024-01-14: According to media reports from Sunday (14 January), at least three members of the regular armed forces were killed by suspected IS terrorists in the northern Iraqi province of Saladin. The attack is said to have taken place on the road between Baiji and Haditha in the Jazeera sector.
Heightened security measures and operations of security forces are to be expected. Armed clashes are possible during arrests of terror suspects. Travellers are advised to exercise high caution, to strictly avoid operations of security forces, and to follow instructions from security forces.
