Update 2026-03-02 (5): According to the sources, several explosions were heard on Monday evening (2 March, local time) near the US Consulate in Erbil. The blasts followed the interception of drones by the consulate’s air defense system.

Update 2026-03-02 (4): The shelling of the Jufr a-Nasr base of Kataeb Hezbollah continued on Monday (2 March).

Update 2026-03-02 (3): After the international airport in Erbil (EBL) was targeted by Iranian missiles and combat drones on Monday (2 March), the French embassy instructed its nationals to leave the Autonomous Region of Kurdistan-Northern Iraq by land via the border with Turkey.

Update 2026-03-02 (2): According to the sources, several strikes hit the Jurf al-Nasr military base housing Kataeb Hezbollah on Monday (2 March). Moreover, air defence systems intercepted several drones near Erbil International Airport (EBL).

Update 2026-03-02 (1): A drone launched by the Iraqi armed faction Saraya Awliya al-Dam within the Islamic Resistance in Iraq on Monday (2 March) toward Victoria Base inside Baghdad International Airport (BGW) in Baghdad, was intercepted and shot down by air defenses. The group claimed responsibility and described the attack as retaliation for the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
