2026-08-28: Hundreds of ultra-Orthodox protesters gathered in the Bar-Ilan Street area in northern Jerusalem on Thursday night (27 August, local time) to oppose the expansion of the light rail. Demonstrators reportedly tore down construction fences, set up cardboard structures on fire, and attempted to enter the construction site.
