Update 2023-08-15: According to the sources from Tuesday (15 August), typhoon Lan made landfall on the Kii peninsula in the western part of the nation, causing significant traffic delays due to the heavy rainfall. Reportedly, the national meteorological service warned about probable floods and landslides. Thousands of households facing poweroutage and people were urged to evacuate from dangerous areas in Kyoto and other cities. Meanwhile, the typhoon is now travelling slowly in a northwestern direction and will be headed towards the Sea of Japan on Wednesday (16 August).
